On page 82 there is a list showing a progression of shutter speed and apertures that are equivalent exposures (Exposure amounts 1 - 4). The list is not correct since I skipped a couple of shutter speeds. Here is the correct information. Please update your book:

Due to the incorrect flow of the list, the errors multiply over the next couple of pages. I have re-written them to clear this up. This page insert is a rewrite, so the exposure amount list (1-4) shown above will not be the same as the new insert. In the insert, there are the same values, but the list is reversed.

Aperture and Shutter speed relationships are a complex subject requiring clear thought. The camera provides much help in its automatic modes. However, as a user of the D90 in manual modes, you'll need to study apertures and shutter speeds—in detail—until you fully understand them.

Here's a free aperture and shutter speed chart I just created for my readers.

On page 36 there is a picture (Figure 9A) showing how the camera's Exposure display presents an over or underexposure condition. The picture shows 1.3 EV steps of underexposure, but the caption incorrectly states "1.3 EV steps of overexposure." Here is a corrected caption: "Figure 9A - Exposure display with 1.3 EV steps of underexposure."

A couple of paragraphs below Figure 9A the last sentence also uses the word overexposure when it should have said underexposure. Here is a corrected sentence: "In figure 9A, the bar is indicating 1 1/3 EV or 1.3 EV steps (stops) underexposure."
